Final 2 craft fairs of the year

Firstly, LS6 Art Fair is this Saturday at the Left Bank Centre. With around 40 stalls across a range of arts and crafts, there'll be plenty to get your Christmas shopping underway!

Next up it's the brilliant Reetsweet craft fair which is on all weekend at the Corn Exchange. I will just be attending on the Sunday (11-4.30pm). For more info see Reetsweet Blog and Facebook event

Update

Thanks to everyone who came down to the Handmade fair today, despite being a bit worse for wear and buying more than I sold, I had a great day. Please come along to my next (and potentially last) fair before Christmas at the LeftBank Centre in Leeds - LS6 Art Fair

Also, please note I haven't had time to get everything on my folksy shop (marketed more at the UK, but as Etsy is international, I've prioritised that!) just yet but please do take a look at all my items on my etsy shop and hopefully i'll get Folksy up and running soon!

Another Weekend, another craft fair...

'Handmade' Blog - craft fair this Sunday at Leeds' Brudenell Social Club

Come down and say hello! there'll be lots of great crafty goods from some very talented people, as well as 2-4-1 on Tea & Cakes (which are super cheap and tasty anyway!)

It'll be officially 4 weeks until Christmas so if you haven't started already, this weekend may be the time...
I'll also be in attendance at a fair at the LeftBank Centre on Cardigan Road next weekend, although I may not have more craft fairs before Christmas after that so don't miss out!

Also, I've made a good start at putting everything on my Etsy shop, have a look -

Still more things to come this week, it's taking a little while! However it is slightly cheaper to come and get them in person, so hopefully see some of you this weekend.

A lot of catching up to do...

So perhaps I'm never going to be the world's best blogger - I seem to always be doing far too much to reflect/keep everyone updated any more than what I pop on Twitter or Facebook. So, the last few months have consisted of focusing on becoming a full time musician but now that I don't have so much as a part time job, I'm getting my head around what I used to consider 'extra' to working, is now WORKING. But now I have a little more time, I obviously, as usual, want to do as much as possible. At the moment, projects include live and recorded session, my own strings/installation art project, teaching 3 instruments, learning to sight read, composing for dance, being a part of The Leeds Music Hub (including ideas for teaching programmes/visual input on decorating the venue), as well as Hidden Rose. So as you can see Hidden Rose has taken a backseat for the time being, but am keeping up with it slowly, as a kind of investment for the future :) I've got new material, some great vintage storage space, and have at least been making presents for friends (really helps when you can't afford to buy them!).

Along with all this I've gotten about a bit - Spain, London, Lille and Belgium with Lone Wolf, Primavera festival in Barcelona (one of the best festivals/holidays/musically inspirational experiences), Glastonbury and other misadventures with best pals Pulled Apart By Horses, been to THREE theme parks (how?! haven't been to any in about 10 years!), organised a 1920s Murder Mystery joint birthday party with the wonderful Lord Whitney (check the postcard portraits, you might spot a few familiar faces!), hung out with a couple of awesome babes who have been inspiring me to make little person things, and continue to live my life in a way that I hope encourages other people to live for things that make you happy, not to worry about money too much, hang out with lovely people and generally enjoy life. Even this amount of reflecting starts to make me grateful for everything I've got, but also reminds me this is the life I have chosen. I hope your 2011 is as good as mine so far!

Here are some photos of some bits I've made, some lovely vintage finds, and more...Hope you like them,
Lins :)

A few bits

So, it's a new year full of new things, and I'm off to a busy start already (as usual!). As I'm also a musician, at the moment my focus is on promoting myself as a session musician and teacher, which will allow me to have more time to do the things I love such as write music and get all arty and creative. I'm also trying to get organised as I'm taking about a million and one things on. I'm one of those people who needs things to be physically organised to be able to work creatively, so I'm trying to sort my spaces in my house out. It may be a little while before I get some new items up, but I've been pottering around collecting lovely new material! Anyway, here's a few piccies of some recent things:
My first Christmas craft fair stall, shared with the wonderful Lord Whitney at the Brudenell at the beginning of December
A cushion made for a friend...
A baby sleeping bag made for a friend's baby - Michael

A lovely November trip to Knaresborough
Tom 'working' some patterns in the Harrogate snow...
 My Tree!
Merry Christmas jumpers!
